Tsunami Devastation

26.12. 2004:
As you are aware on SUNDAY the 26th December 2004 in the morning the sun dawned as usual, but who knew that for thousands of people on the south eastern Coast of India, eastern coast of Sri Lanka and on the coast of Indonesia, it would be their last. In Chennai on the Marina Beach that Sunday morning as usual tens of cricket teams were out there playing with bats and wooden planks or with whatever was available. Elders were on their routine morning walk. Tourists, both Indians and foreigners were there on the sea shore to witness the sun rise through blue waters. Fishermen were hurrying with their catch towards the shore to rush to the markets with dreams and ambitions. Suddenly the nature struck the East Coast in the form of TSUNAMI, an unforeseen phenomenon. The result: the total devastation and destruction unheard and unseen henceforth and left the entire humanity staggered. Till now more than 15, 000 people are reported dead and missing in Tamil Nadu alone however comparatively human losses among Muslims are negligible and reported as about 25%.

REHABILITATION PROJECT FOR TSUNAMI AFFECTED PEOPLE

The estimated cost of the project:

Cost of land (1.35 Acre) 15,00,000/- (Fifteen Lakhs)

Construction cost of 70 houses 70,00,000/- (Seventy Lakhs)

We require 70,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy Lakhs) for construction cost of 70 New Houses for Tsunami survivors.
