Muslims
localities at various places and their shops,
restaurants, industries and other properties
costing crores of rupees were targeted. A large
number of mosques and other religious places of
Muslims were damaged and destroyed. The loss is
estimated to the tune of about Rs. 2,500 crores.
It is an open fact, as reported by the National
Human Rights Commission (NHRC), that the entire
tragedy was a result of official connivance and
therefore no official help to the victims was
forthcoming. The Chairman of Ta'awun Trust, Dr.
Mohd. Manzoor Alam with a team visited Ahmedabad
and took a round of the Naroda Patia, Gulbarg
Society and other affected localities and camps.
The Chairman discussed the situation with the
victims and local community leaders and other
humanrights activists.
